Privacy Policy
Last updated 5 October 2026
Your videos are yours. This is what we do with them and with the little else we hold about you, in plain words.
Who we are
SNIVO is run by Grewbie Technologies Private Limited, of S.F. No. 120/9A, Plot No. 22, Murugan Nagar, Pirattiyur, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu 620009, India. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”) we are the data fiduciary for the personal data described here: we decide why and how it is used. In this policy “we” means that business and “you” means the person using SNIVO.
This policy says what we collect, why, who else handles it, how long we keep it and what you can ask of us. It is part of our Terms of Service. Our Grievance Officer, Yogeswaran, can be reached at yogeswaran@grewbie.com.
What we collect
| What | Details | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address | Used to sign you in (we email you a one-time code, or you continue with Google) and to reach you about your account. If you sign in with Google, Google tells us the email address of the account you chose and that it has verified it; we ask Google for nothing else. | You, or Google when you choose to sign in with it |
| Your account | Your plan and its dates, your credit balance, and a record of every credit held, used or returned. | You and us |
| Your videos | The video files you upload, picture and sound. | You |
| Your own pictures, clips, sounds and voiceover recordings | Files you add to an edit yourself: a picture or clip laid over the video, a sound effect, or a voiceover you record in the editor. We ask your browser to use your microphone only while you are recording a voiceover; recording stays on your device until you choose to add it to your video, and nothing is sent to us before then. | You |
| What we work out from them | A transcript with the time of each word and its language; where a face and hands are in the frame; cut-outs of the speaker; and the edit itself, with its earlier versions and your changes. | Our software, from your video |
| Your exports | The finished videos and cover pictures we make for you. | Our software |
| Your brand kit | A logo, colours, a font and a handle, if you save them. | You |
| Payments | Which pass you bought, the amount, its status, the kind of payment method (for example UPI), the dates, Razorpay’s order and payment numbers, and any refund. Not your card number, UPI PIN or bank login: those go to Razorpay only. | Razorpay and you |
| Messages to us | What you write to support, in the app or by email, and the email address you write from. When you write from the app we also keep a short note of your account at that moment (your plan, your credits, and the state of the video, export or payment you point to), so we can see what you saw. Our replies are kept with your messages. | You, and our own records |
| Technical data | Your IP address, browser type and the times of requests, in server logs. To slow down abuse, sign-in attempts are counted per email address and per network address, in a scrambled (hashed) form. | Your device |
The site does not ask for your device’s location, your contact list or your camera. It asks for your microphone only when you choose to record a voiceover in the editor.
Why we use it
We use your data to:
- sign you in and keep your account safe, including stopping misuse;
- make your edit: transcribe what is said, plan the captions, cuts, graphics and pictures, show you a preview and render the exports you ask for;
- take payments, add credits and passes to your account, and keep the records that tax and accounting law require;
- answer your messages, requests and complaints;
- keep the service running, find and fix faults, and work out what it costs us to run;
- do what the law or a court requires of us.
Transcripts and edits are made by software, and no decision that has legal or similar effect on you is made that way.
We do not sell your personal data, we show no advertising, and we do not use your videos or transcripts to train AI models. We ask the companies below the same.
We rely on your consent, which you give when you sign in and upload, and on the uses the DPDP Act allows without it, such as meeting a legal duty. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see “Your rights”); we can then no longer provide the service to you.
Who else handles it
We use other companies to run parts of the service. Each gets only what its job needs.
| Company | What it does for us | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Web Services | Hosts the service, holds your files in private storage, keeps your sign-in account (Amazon Cognito) and sends the one-time code and our replies to your support requests by email (Amazon SES). | Everything that is stored, and your email address. |
| Sarvam AI | Turns the speech in your video into a transcript. | The sound of your video, in short pieces. |
| Anthropic (Claude) | A language model that helps design and place graphics and pictures when a feature that uses it runs. | The words of your transcript with their timings, and how your edit is laid out. Never the video or the audio. |
| Razorpay | Takes your payment and tells us the result. | What you enter at checkout goes to Razorpay, not to us. We receive the outcome, the method type and the payment numbers. |
| Pexels, Pixabay and Iconify | Provide the stock photos, clips, illustrations and icons we find for your video. | Search words taken from what you say (a word like “growth”), and our server’s address. Never your video, your audio or a whole transcript. |
| Google Fonts | Supplies the typefaces the pages and captions are set in. | Your browser asks Google for the fonts when a page opens, so Google sees your IP address and browser details. |
We host in India (the AWS Mumbai region). Some of these companies may handle data outside India: for example Anthropic, in the United States. Where we send personal data abroad we do it only as the DPDP Act allows.
We also give personal data to a court, police or other authority when the law obliges us to, and to advisers bound by confidentiality. If the business is sold or merged, the new owner takes over this policy and the data with it, and we will tell you.
How long we keep it
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| The original video you uploaded, and the working files made from it (the speech-recognition copies, the cut-outs of the speaker and the stock pictures) | Deleted automatically 30 days after you upload it, whether or not you have exported it. A video older than that cannot be previewed or exported again unless you upload it again. |
| The transcript, the analysis and your edit (with its versions) | Until you ask us to delete the video, or to erase your account. They stay after the original video has been deleted. |
| Your own pictures, clips, sounds and voiceover recordings | Deleted automatically 30 days after you add it, whether or not it is still used in your edit. |
| Your exports and cover pictures | Deleted automatically 30 days after they are made, so download what you want to keep. Before that, until you ask us to delete them, or to erase your account. |
| Temporary files made while an export is drawn | Deleted automatically within 7 days. |
| Your brand kit | Until you change it, or ask us to erase your account. |
| Your account and credit record | While your account exists. The record of credits and payments is kept, without your videos, for as long as tax and accounting law require, even after erasure. |
| Payment records | As long as tax and accounting law require, which is several years. |
| Server logs | Kept on our server only, and overwritten automatically as new entries arrive (they are rotated by size). We do not archive them. |
| Backups | Database backups are kept for 14 days. Data we have erased drops out of them within that time. |
| Messages to support | A request is kept while it is open, and deleted automatically 24 months after it is closed. If you erase your account they are deleted with it, including when the record of your payments stays. |
Once the original video is deleted you keep your transcript and your edit, but to preview or export it again you will need to upload the video again.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can:
- ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, what we do with it, and who we have shared it with;
- ask us to correct, complete or update it;
- ask us to erase it, unless we must keep it by law (see “How long we keep it”);
- withdraw the consent you gave us;
- make a complaint to us and have it answered (see “Complaints”), and nominate another person to use these rights for you if you die or cannot act for yourself.
You can correct a word, a title or your brand kit yourself in the app. To see what we hold, or to have your videos and what we made from them deleted, or your account erased, write to yogeswaran@grewbie.com from the email address you sign in with; we will confirm it is you with a one-time code. It costs nothing. We carry the request out ourselves and tell you when it is done. We acknowledge it within 48 hours and answer within 30 days.
Erasing your account removes your videos, transcripts, edits, exports, brand kit and messages to support, and the link between the account and your email address. The record of what you paid and of your credits stays, without your videos, for as long as tax and accounting law require.
How we protect it
The site and the app use HTTPS. Your videos sit in private storage that only our servers can open, and you get them back through links that expire (an hour, for a download). You sign in with a code sent to your email address, or with Google, and every request checks that the video belongs to the account asking. The people who work on SNIVO see your files only when they need to, for example to fix a fault you report.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
Cookies and your browser
The site sets one cookie of its own, va_lang, and only when you choose a language from the menu on the home page: it holds that language’s code (for example ta) and nothing else, is kept for a year, and makes the home page open in the language you chose. There are no advertising or analytics trackers on it. Your sign-in and any edits that have not been saved yet are kept in your browser’s local storage, on your own device, and are removed when you sign out or clear the site’s data. Razorpay’s payment window is run by Razorpay and may set its own cookies, under its own policy.
Children
SNIVO is for people aged 18 and over. A younger person may use it only with a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms and to this policy for them. If you believe a child has given us data without that, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we post the new text here with a new date, and if the change affects what you have agreed to we will ask you again before it applies to you.
Complaints
Please write to our Grievance Officer first: Yogeswaran, at yogeswaran@grewbie.com, or at S.F. No. 120/9A, Plot No. 22, Murugan Nagar, Pirattiyur, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu 620009, India. We acknowledge a complaint within 48 hours and aim to settle it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India once you have used this route.
Other ways to reach us, and the details of the business, are on the Contact page. How payments and refunds work is in the Cancellation and Refund Policy.
